CHARGING THE UNIPAKS

Cool

For in-field use when electricity is not practical, the quickest method to charge the UniPaks is to submerge the packs in a suitable container filled with plenty of ice and water. In a few minutes, you will see the clear liquid inside the Unipaks change to a semi-solid, white waxy substance. In approximately 20-30 minutes, the UniPaks should be totally charged and ready for use.

You can also charge the Unipaks by laying them flat on a refrigerator or freezer shelf. Charging the UniPaks in a refrigerator or freezer usually requires more time that the quick ice and water method. If you stack several packs on top of one another, the charge time may require several hours when using refrigeration or freezing.

Next, for Cool Vests, insert the charged packs into the mesh pockets, closing each shoulder tab appropriately. Adjusting the shoulder straps and attach the elastic straps to the front for a comfortable but snug fit. When you first put on the charged Cool Vest, the packs will initially feel stiff. Cool Vest should be worn high on your torso for optimum heat abstraction from the body’s engine (the thoracic cavity). After approximately 10 minutes, the packs will begin to soften and form to your body as they absorb more and more of your body’s excess heat. You will acclimate quickly to its comfortable temperature.

For Cool Seats, insert the pack into the fabric carrier, closing the opening. Keep the fabric side facing up as the bottom is insulated for prolonged cooling time. As you sit on the Cool Seat or use it behind your back, it begins to soften quickly absorbs excess body heat and begins to turn back to a clear liquid. When the cool packs turn completely clear or mostly all clear liquid, it is time to charge the cool packs again.

UniPaks may be energized thousands of times, and with proper care, will last for years providing you with “optimum temperature” comfort and heat stress relief.

CLEANING & LONG-TERM STORAGE

For long-term storage, refrigeration is an optimum method of keeping the vests charged for use at a moment’s notice. Long-term storage in a cool environment will not harm the UniPaks.

·         It is preferred to hand wash the fabric carrier in mild soap and water and lay flat to air dry.

·         Do not dry fabric carrier in a hot dryer as hot temperatures may cause the hood and loop Velcro to crimp and curl.

·         Do not use bleach or abrasive cleansers on the fabric carrier.

·         It is unnecessary to dry clean the fabric carrier.

·         Do not roll, ball or crimp packs or fabric carrier when storing.

·         UniPak bladder is “medical grade” proprietary vessel (400% stretch w/excellent memory) that repels bacteria, grime and microbes. You may wash UniPaks with soap and water or any normal household cleaner. In most circumstances, the UniPak does not require washing.

·         UniPak is dielectric, non-toxic and non-carcinogenic and nuclear power approved.
